According to various media reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting another little member of their family. Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markel, married three years ago in October 2018 in South Africa, are now expecting their second child. Their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, will turn two in May this year.
The royal couple even runs a charitable foundation, Archewell, for the welfare of the marginalized community.
Who knows the pain and joy of motherhood more than Meghan Markel? In July last year, she suffered a heart-wrenching miscarriage that broke her down. She wrote a detailed article in the New York Times citing her grief of losing a child.
Meghan Markel also claimed that any pregnant woman who goes through a lot of hardship in those days is vulnerable. Yet, it’s challenging as well.
Prince Harry spoke in detail about how he spent time with Archie last year due to coronavirus-induced lockdown. He always prioritizes his family time and explains that everyone needs to celebrate those moments.
An official statement released by a spokesperson of the couple on Sunday clearly stated that the couple is expecting their second child.
The expected child will be the 11th great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip.
Once it went official, the UK media was flooded with this news, with several websites and newspapers publishing it on their front page.
Also, several A-list celebrities started sending out their congratulatory notes to the royal couple.
However, both the couple—Prince Harry, 36 and Meghan Markel, 39—didn’t make any announcement regarding the expected date of the second baby’s birth.
The second kid is likely to be America-born newest member of the British royal family. However, it’s still unclear that when and where will be the kid’s birth certificate to be filed along with other legal formalities.
Even at the time of Archie’s birth too, the couple was quite secretive about his birthplace and other details until both the couple reached their home with the kid. Considering the sensitivity of the case and being a royal lineage, even this time too, both Harry and Meghan are likely to keep things private until they make the official announcement later on that day.
It’s worthwhile to mention here that both Prince Harry and Meghan Markel had shifted outside the UK to Santa Barbara County, California in the US a few months back. They did it for privacy concerns and to stay away from the media limelight.
Interestingly, if the expected child is born anywhere within the US territory, then he or she will become an American citizen as per the nation’s 14th Amendment. Also, the royal kid can claim his or her British citizenship for being a child of a British Citizen.
Reportedly, the couple, meanwhile, is busy producing entertainment content for Hollywood and Netflix. However, they are also actively engaged in charitable activities for the protection and welfare of needy people and vulnerable communities.
