Having everything aesthetic in our house is the new cool. Anyone would love to use handmade soaps but if we purchase them, they are quite worth the money. There is another way where we can make sure we get all the benefits of handmade soap and still be aesthetic.
Why you should use homemade soaps?
No matter how fancy they sound, these handmade soaps are natural. Commercial and chemical soaps contain harsh chemicals that not only harm the environment, but they also harm the skin. They can also cause the skin to irritate. Over the years when the commercial brands advertise of olive oil in their soaps, they aren’t made of natural oils anymore, they are made of animal fat and chemical toxins.

There are so many labels out there that make you believe that you can get moisture and health to the skin but you should not be fooled as they do nothing but harm to your skin. Thus, when you are purchasing something always read the ingredients list. There might be some genuine products out there which could be quite beneficial for you.
When you use a naturally made soap, they are beautiful and they also enhance your bathing experience. You get to bathe with some natural ingredients which can be beneficial for the skin. Since the soap is made of natural vegetable oils and essential oil, it will contain the exact kind of moisture the skin needs. While bathing, you will get a creamy lather so that you can work on the areas of your body and wash off properly.
Whatever glycerin that is in the handmade soaps is not removed as a by-product but instead is retained since it acts as a natural moisturizer. If you want your soaps unscented, then you can skip adding the essential oils but if you want to add that extra layer of scent and moisture, then you can surely add a few drops of essential oil.
Since it is 2019, you can rely on a few things such as Kutol Industrial Hand Soap as they use natural ingredients but as the other natural soap makers may make the handmade soaps in bulk thus may use a few commercial ingredients. You can make the handmade soaps on your own with the below method shared here.
How to make homemade soaps that also contain essential oils?
It may be a little tedious the first time you make it but once you make it, you can play with the scents using different essential oils. You can use different exfoliating materials like chia seeds, sugar, etc. You can also decide what scent or flavor you want to choose. The best thing about the handmade natural soap is you know the ingredients and you need not worry about anything else. Without delaying any further, here are the things that are required:
– Shea Butter Soap base
– Oats (if you like to add)
– Essential oil ( your choice again)
– Silicone soap mold
The number of handmade soap bars depends on the size of the silicone soap mold. If it is large enough, you can make 3 bars of soap.

The Process
– Cut the shea butter soap base into cubes, as the shea butter soap base is already formed into cubes.
– Then empty the cubes into the glass bowl and then put into the microwave for 30-40 seconds. It should melt by now and stir it so that you can melt it completely. If it has not melted at 30 seconds, stir and microwave for another 20 seconds until it has completely melted.
– Now, add the oats to your soap base and stir.
– Again, add moderate amounts of essential oil and stir. The essential oil can be anything like lavender, cedarwood, sandalwood, YlangYlang, etc.
– Keep stirring properly and then pour this mixture into the silicone mold.

– Once they are in the mold, cool them off for 2-3 hours until they become solid.
– You can pop the bars out of the mold and they are ready to use.
You can also use glycerin instead of shea butter and herbs instead of oats. Repeat the same process but you will need to add vegetable oil or spray. Once done, you can gently spray some oil into the tin you pouring the soap mix into. As mentioned above, if you are using a silicone mold, you can skip this step as it is not required.
For the glycerin soap, you can also freeze the soap mix in the freezer for 30 minutes after cooling. This will help to build proper popsicles and give that cooling effect.
