PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PMKSNY) is a nationwide initiative for farmers launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018. The latest data says that by August 2020, more than 8.4-crores of farmers of India have been benefitted under the PM Kisan Scheme.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi program is almost similar to the Telangana government’s Ryuthu Bandhu scheme. The key feature of both schemes is the direct cash transfer to farmers’ bank accounts as and when the government makes the payment for that purpose.
While Ryuthu Bandhu scheme transfers the benefits to eligible farmers of Telangana in two installments every year, the PM Kisan initiative does the same in three installments every year across India.
What Is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PMKSNY) is a very ambitious project spearheaded by the union government of India. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is coordinating the scheme in sync with other concerned authority for the fulfillment of the scheme’s overall objectives in a stipulated time frame.
Each eligible farmer under the scheme will receive 6000-INR per annum in three equal installments of Rs. 2000/- each at the end of every four months in December, April, and August.
They will get the amount credited directly into their respective bank accounts. However, the actual date of receipt may vary considering such a huge amount of farmers’ bank accounts to be credited.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PMKSNY) is a much-needed initiative for the welfare of our farmers’ community. India is a country where more than 60% of people are engaged in agricultural and pastoral activities. Without uplifting the farmers of India, we can’t imagine a happy, prosperous, and developed India.
PMKSNY has got its inspiration from the Telangana Government’s highly successful Rhythu Bandhu Scheme. Taking a cue from the same, the central government launched this highly ambitious project a few months back for farmers across the country.
The main advantage of the PMKSNY is the direct cash transfer. The amount will be directly credited to farmer’s bank account as and when the central government releases payment for that. There’s absolutely no need for any middle man at any stage of the program.
