The placements which colleges provide depend upon the reputation of the college. If you are from an IIT, you can get a handsome package of 1 crore if you get placed in a good company, and also, if you don’t belong to any reputed college, you can still get a package of a minimum of 5 lacs, which is quite good for a start.
But if you think about getting a government job, then you should opt for more core subjects like electrical, mechanical, and civil.
